• We set up your computer with a username and host name that you can choose.  If not, we’ll just use default values.
• The password will be provided with your computer.  We show you how to change it in the “Intro to Linux” course.
• Full-disk encryption is offered as an option.  We believe that it’s better not to encrypt your full disk, and use encrypted folders or partitions for sensitive items.  However, if you want full-disk encryption, we will generate a random encryption password and send it to you via a secure method.  The encryption password can be changed once you receive the computer – we show you how in the “Intro to Linux” course.
